It is the most unspoken of horrors and the unspoken horror cannot be addressed. Why would a child willingly submit to something so terrible that they have no memory of? It's much easier to make one forget than to make them remember. The act of making the mind blank is simple; it just requires the presence of fear. Perhaps the true horror is being trapped, not just physically, but mentally, alone in an endless void that is oneself. But still, no one wants to be there.
