To download a sound, right click on the sound (press and hold on mobile) and press 'download sound'. You can get free download credits by watching an advert.

I linked to 101soundboards from my YouTube video, forum, blog or podcast. How can I share it?

You can submit a link to your YouTube video or link at Shoutouts. If you get approved, you'll get thousands of points in the Elites Leaderboard, a Checkmark, and featured on the Showcase so everyone can see your videos or visit your link. It also really helps out 101soundboards.

Why are there adverts?

Advertising helps support this free site. It costs money in hosting, and a lot of time and effort making and maintaining the site.

We've tried many different ways over the years to fund this site, including charging for downloads, donations, selling merchandise and stickers, but there was little to no support.

How do I hide the adverts?

If you're not logged in, there is a 'Less Adverts' button at the top of the site.

By creating an account and logging in, you can significantly reduce the number of adverts you see. To remove all adverts, simply create a soundboard and reach at least 500 visits.

While it’s not possible to eliminate adverts during downloads, each ad you view grants you multiple download credits for free.

What do you do to prevent offensive TTS voice sounds?

We use A.I. moderation tools to block hateful, threatening, sexual, graphically violent, and self harm sounds. If you have found a sound you find offensive, please right-click it and press Report. We typically respond to reports within a few minutes.

Why can't I see other peoples' phrases on a TTS board?

In an effort to stop abuse, you can now only see your own phrases.

You can view your own TTS phrases, and copy a link to send to your friends if you want to share them.

TTS phrases are not private, but more similar to YouTube's 'unlisted' where you can send a link to your friends. They may also appear in search engines.

To keep your phrases truly private, download them after making them and delete them.

All TTS phrases used to be visible on the voice boards, but while it was entertaining for some, there was a lot of content that users didn't like, and it was also confusing for some users to see phrases from other users and not just their own. While there are some users that would like to see all the content, we believe this unlisted approach is better overall.

Why is my AdBlocker stopping downloads?

Ask your AdBlocker to stop blocking downloads.

You can also try opening a Private/Incognito tab, or following this Guide to Disabling Your Ad Blocker.

How long should my audio be when creating a Text-To-Speech (TTS) Voice Clone?

Your audio should be approximately 10 seconds long.

It must have three words MINIMUM (words that can be understood by the cloning engine i.e. spoken), or it won't work.

Longer audio doesn't help. Think about trimming longer audio into sections and making variations of your voice, if you want to be expressive.

What is Text-to-Speech?

Text-to-Speech (TTS) is a technology that converts text into spoken voice output. It is used in a variety of applications, including voice assistants, navigation systems, and accessibility tools for people with visual impairments. On 101soundboards you can use TTS to create custom sounds various voices, then share them with others. TTS voices are synthetic creations and do not imply any affiliation with the person whose name or likeness may be associated with it.

How does the TTS feature work on this site?

When you submit a phrase to be converted into speech, our system sends the text to a TTS engine, which generates an audio file of the spoken text. The audio file is then added to the soundboard for you to play and share with others.

To use the TTS feature, simply enter your desired phrase in the text box on the voice of your choice. Click the "Generate" button to create your custom sound. The TTS engine will process your request and generate an audio file of the spoken text, which will be added to the top of the soundboard in green for you to play and share with others.

ou can find a list of available voices and song generators on the TTS page. Explore a variety of voices and create unique sounds to share with your friends.

Why does it take time for my TTS request to be processed?

The time it takes for your TTS request to be processed depends on the current queue size and the TTS engine being used. Some voices have no queue and are processed immediately, while others may take a few minutes to generate the audio file.

What should I do while waiting for my TTS request to be processed?

If there is a queue, while waiting for your TTS request to be processed you can bookmark the page and check back later. You can also explore other voices and song generators on the site to create more sounds, or explore the millions of sounds already available on 101soundboards.

Can I queue multiple sounds for generation at the same time?

What happens if my TTS request contains inappropriate content?

Phrases with extreme inappropriate language, hate speech, self-harm, violence, or bullying may be blocked and not displayed on the soundboard. Please keep your requests fun, friendly, and respectful.

How do I delete a TTS sound or phrase I created?

To delete a TTS sound you created, go to Manage TTS Phrases where you can view the TTS phrases you have created.

Alternatively, if you have found an offensive sound, right click on the sound (press and hold on mobile) and select "Report" from the context menu. We typically investigate reports within a few minutes. Alternatively you can contact us, and include a link to the sound.

If you have created a custom TTS Voice (Voice Clone) and you want to delete the entire voice, follow the same instructions for deleting a Soundboard.

Yes!

Go to Clone Your Voice and upload a recording, or use your microphone.

Why did another similar sound get generated?

Why is there a character limit on TTS voices? Can it be removed?

All our TTS voices are free, and there are limited resources. To keep them free, we have to limit the length of some voices. Additionally, there are technical limitations with some of the voices that limit them.

There is currently no option to pay for credits to extend voices. If you need a longer voice, hire a commercial voice artist. You'll get far better results!

Is TTS (Text-to-Speech) guaranteed to be available forever?

There is no guarantee that we can keep this free service running forever, but don't worry and just have fun!

How do I change my username?

This is a link to your User Profile.

How do I search for a sound?

Go to the Search page

Why should I hire a voice artist?

Here are three compelling reasons to hire a voice artist over AI:

1. Authentic Emotional Depth
Voice artists bring a human touch to their performances, conveying authentic emotions and nuanced expressions that AI often struggles to replicate. A skilled artist can adjust their tone, pacing, and inflection to fit the context of the message, ensuring the delivery feels genuine and relatable.

2. Creative Flexibility
Voice artists can collaborate directly with clients, taking direction and adapting their performance to specific feedback. They can interpret scripts creatively, offering unique takes that go beyond what a pre-programmed AI can provide. This flexibility ensures a tailor-made result rather than a generic output.

3. Cultural and Ethical Sensitivity
Human voice artists are adept at understanding cultural contexts, slang, and subtleties that might not translate well through AI. They also help businesses avoid potential ethical pitfalls, like misrepresenting accents or perpetuating stereotypes, which AI-generated voices might unintentionally reinforce.

Hiring a voice artist adds professionalism and a personal touch that can make a significant difference in the impact of your project.

If I'm cloning a voice with TTS, do you automatically remove the background sounds and music?

Yes! We now automatically remove the background sounds and music, to give you the best quality voice clones. Previously, you had to supply clips without music or use a service like mvsep.com.

Does putting HQ, SQ or HD in my cloned voice title change anything?

No. All cloned voices are the same quality.

How do I send a DMCA Takedown Notice?

You can send a DMCA Takedown Notice at DMCA Takedown Notice.

Why can't I download a voice model of the TTS voice I created?

The RVC models are a legacy/old type. We moved away from RVC as it was very expensive for each voice clone (sometimes $2) so we couldn't provide it for free, and it was actually worse quality, and now use TTS that does not require voice models.
